Balloons
Bunches of balloons
Drifting so seamlessly through space
They vanish into open air
Discovering what’s new
Leaving all their things behind
The freedom now to roam the world

Pigments of color fill the air
Surrounded by particles of light

Wide eyed little girl
Wondering if someday she might fly
The sun falls down illuminates
The steps she takes a canvas
Space and time she paints her way
Like big balloons in a clear blue sky

Pigments of color fill her eyes
Juxtapose the elements of light

Ohh ohh ohh

Handcuffed to the page
No wonder she’s forced to tell a lie
Yeah I could write a book and base a movie on these words
Depicting how the little girl jumped off the page and came to life

If only she could see herself
As all the little children’s eyes saw her
